Adventures at William's Pub

michaela. says:
i went to a locally owned cafe like books and beans in litle current today
michaela. says:
you should go to books and beans
Woah. says:
I should. When tuba boy goes.
Woah. says:
I went to William's today with Ray and Sarah,
Woah. says:
And we met this guy who we didn't know but recognized... it's really confusing.
michaela. says:
how did he look like.
michaela. says:
that is confusing though.
michaela. says:
you should have gone to BOOKS AND BEANS!!!
Woah. says:
Do you want the long story? Because it's the only one that's going to make sense.
michaela. says:
sure
Woah. says:
No, this was awesome.
michaela. says:
i have time
Woah. says:
Okay, we're sitting in William's and two guys walk in, thay're not together. One's wearing a suit, and one's pretty casual.
michaela. says:
suspsicious
Woah. says:
The guy in the suit orders and gets a newspaper near our table. When teh casual guy passes our table he stops to check out Ray's comic books,
michaela. says:
...
Woah. says:
He's talking about the comic books and forgets a name of an artist or something, and the guy getting the newspaper tries to guess the name he forgot, but it wasn't the right one, so he goes to sit down at the other end of William's.
Woah. says:
I ask who that guy was and the casual guy says he's an insrance salesman,
Woah. says:
*insurance
Woah. says:
I asked him if he actually knew the guy, or if he figured by the suit. He figured by the suit.
michaela. says:
this is interesting
Woah. says:
So he goes over and asks him what he does for a living, and Sarah is out of earshot and saying she knows the guy in the suit from somewhere, neither Ray or I have a clue who he is.
Woah. says:
We go over when they're talking and Sarah suggests how she might know him, none of them got us anywhere.
Woah. says:
Then she asked if he played the tenor sax, which he did.
Woah. says:
He was all scared now because she knew he played the tenor sax,
Woah. says:
Then Sarah said to Ray "It's violin guy!"
michaela. says:
and then....
Woah. says:
And the guy is like wtf? I've maybe held a violin once in my life...
Woah. says:
But Sarah explains to him that he was in Reach for the Top (frreaking him out more) and that during a question about Nero he was making violently obvious violin mimes to hint to his teammate what the answer was,
michaela. says:
im enjoying this story
Woah. says:
So now we've figured out who this guy is. The casual guy went to a payphone by the way and didn't talk to us, but suit guy (Jay) sits down with us
Woah. says:
And we talked about music and words. It was very fun
Woah. says:
But when he leaves, Sarah kindof laughs evilly after realising something.
Woah. says:
He might be going to beach day this Wednesday, and he's never met us before then.
Woah. says:
We think Brandon invited him.
michaela. says:
beach day?
Woah. says:
We go to the beach on Wednesdays
michaela. says:
books and beans has live music wednesdays.
michaela. says:
i miss books and beans
Woah. says:
(
Woah. says:
*
michaela. says:
i should gte a job there one day.
michaela. says:
i would adore that job
michaela. says:
are you working at SN?
Woah. says:
I want a job at Prom.
Woah. says:
No. <_<
michaela. says:
oh.
Woah. says:
Stupid SN.
michaela. says:
Prom.
michaela. says:
would you get deals at Prom?
Woah. says:
Hmm I don't know.
michaela. says:
hmmm....
Woah. says:
Yeah.....
michaela. says:
you should get a job and see
michaela. says:
and if they don't give deals
michaela. says:
QUIT!
michaela. says:
i have a question regarding yoru story: why was the guy wearing a suit?
michaela. says:
and what importance did the casual guy play?
Woah. says:
Oh, turns out he isn't an insurance guy,
Woah. says:
I'm not sure if it's true, but casual guy said he just came from a funural.
Woah. says:
I'm not sure if he was serious because when he sat down with us he said his break was only 30 minutes, so it's not very likely....
michaela. says:
so he IS an insurance guymichaela. says:
wait, you invited a strange person to sit down iwth you or did he just sit?
Woah. says:
No... I overheard something about either taxes or text something. Most likely taxes.
michaela. says:
ah ha
Woah. says:
We invited him.
michaela. says:
brb, i have to find my cat to make sure she hasn't run away

Haha

I find it funny that the moment I get comments don't post for a week and a half. I have a few excuses...

2005-07-15

That's one more. I'm not lending any more games.

Another game officially rejected by both playstations. This one's Spyro three. My cousins have never considered the wellbeing of our games. Not to mention the time time they broke out PS2 and got their dad to fix it. Also, we've lost our game doctor in a rearranging of bookshelves so I can't even attempt to clean up the destroyed games.
And Tyrone, I want my game back you deanic.

Northern Lights Festival

I was actually able to get $25 before Saturday! The festival is all weekend, in fact it's probably just ending right now actually... But I could only afford last night, and that's all I really wanted to see. Other than Too Far North, but I didn't spend another ...lot of money to see them today. Especially in this heat.
So yesterday I headed over after Science North and looked for the Harings (Michaeala and Marla). They were the ones I was specifically looking for, and the last people I knew that I found.
I was with Sean since SN, then we saw Ray checking bracelets, Nursall was doing henna tattoos, Cheryl and Devon with their friend the condom fairy, Shailagh with Myths and Morrors, Sarah swimming with her mom, and finally we spotted Marla's fiddle case, which led us to Michaela as well as their mom.
The first band I actually sat down and watched was Mr Something Something. They were so awesome, even their soundcheck was good. They had a lot of energy and lot of skill. We had to leave halfway through the performance to meet Sarah and get good seats at the main stage for the rest of the performers. Sarah was hella late, but we got awesome seats. Third row centre, not bad considering how many seats we had to save and how many people were there.
Over at the main stage we heard the sound check (woo), then some guitar players. The first was named Peter something I think, who played Guitar, harmonika and Keyboard. I didn't find him that good, but probably just because of the style of music. The next musician was also a guitar player, named Joel something or other. He made far too many Sudbury jokes. Also, between, and even during every song almost, he mentioned the East coast, where he's from. We get it, you're from the East Coast, we're from Sudbury. There is a lot of nickel mining here. Although I was slightly amused when Sarah and Nursall finally showed up to the main stage he sang at that exact moment about friends 'going off to University, to Montreal and Toronto' Sarah's graduated and going Montreal, and Nursall's going to Toronto now. That was creepy. The two guitar guys mentioned then played together, nothing memorable.
The good players came next! Chakidor played, and they are super awesome. They're from Montral with a Guitar player, two fiddlers, a bass player and drummer. Very exciting music. Marla bought a CD, I couldn't afford one. Jorane came up next, with just her and her guitar player Simon. I was a little worried because I know she changes all of her songs each performance, I wasn't sure I would like it, but it turned out to be really really amazing. Really. Better than the Live CD, and better than her actual CDs. I want to buy Evapore now, but it's $17 for six tracks. I'll get it somehow.
The highlight that night was a four month (if I recall) pregnant Natalie McMaster. The woodwind player was awesome, but I guess I'm a little biased. The performance was really good, the players, her fiddling, her dancing. Everyone seemed to really enjoy it. I actually looked back at how far teh crowds went, and at all the freeloaders watching from behind the fence on Paris street and though 'wow, we ever get nice seats eh'. Everyone cleared out after that.

Risk is a fun game.

Risk is a fun game when played with the right people. As long as no one kills anyone out of game, and my dice aren't thrown besides rolling.

Another failure day

Today I went out to eliminate half the I want list, which again failed.
Yesterday I left the house with $45, after two days I'm left with $15.
I got, two pairs of underwear, coke with lime, taco bell and a belt.
None of those things were on the I want list, and don't really logically add up to $30. But that's because I paid Kathleen back for some of the CDs she bought for me on IOU.
I really was going to buy all of those music books today with my gift certificates. You see I thought Jet Landry closed at six. Turns out, it closes at 5 30.
In any case, I no longer can afford the Northern Lgiths festival, so my plan is: Volunteer for one shift on a day that is lame, get in for free on awesome days.
Jorane is playing.

The mall was ore fun today than yesterday. I saw Courtny, Allison, Mr Matt, Tyrone, Phil, and Carl. Tyrone is the only one I expected I might see. He didn't have Spyro for me.

Tomorrow is another beach day, hopefully followed by Risk. Pretty last minute, but after three years people should know to go to the beach on Wednesdays.

Stupid Jet Landry.
